Q&A with Venkata
Tell us where you are from and what you are studying at Virginia Tech.
I am an international student from India. I joined Virginia Tech in the 2022 fall semester as a Master of Engineering student at the National Capital Region campus in Washington Dc, with great hopes of learning new things and meeting new people. And gratefully it's happening here.
What you enjoy most about being a Virginia Tech student?
I had been working as a Graduate Researcher and Teaching assistant for the past two semesters, which made me meet new people and have a great network and understanding about the functioning of the program, which helped me become a better resource for the students for helping them in finding answers about the program.
Tell us about your research at Virginia Tech.
I am currently working on courses of Quantum Engineering and Machine Learning, focused more on Quantum Algorithm Development and Cybersecurity Application of Quantum. Recently I had completed my internship in summer with a startup company in North Carolina as a Quantum Computing Engineer and Data Science Intern.
I like the NCR campus here because of its resources and opportunities that must be utilized by each and every student, making them future ready. I hope there will be a lot more opportunities when the Innovation Campus opens in the upcoming days.
What advice would you give current and upcoming ECE graduate students?
As an ambassador but also as a Graduate Student, I recommend current and future students to build a good social network with people and be responsible and attentive at what you are doing, be prepared for the future with proper resources and most importantly don't forget to enjoy your free time.
