Amber Fizzano joins ECE

Amber Fizzano
June 3, 2013 — Amber Fizzano has joined ECE Student Services as an academic and career advisor for undergraduate and master's students. She previously served as an academic advisor for the university studies department at Virginia Tech since 2002.
"I am excited and honored to begin working with the students in electrical and computer engineering," Fizzano said. "The ECE department is very innovative and dynamic and I am looking forward to being a part of it."
Fizzano has extensive advising and administrative experience. She has served on the planning committee for the Advising Matters Conference at Virginia Tech since 2010. She has taught multiple sections of UNIV 1004, a course on college success strategies.
Fizzano has completed numerous continuing education programs, including Virginia Tech's Diversity Ally certification. She is an active member of the National Academic Advising Association.
She earned her B.S. in family and child development from Virginia Tech in 1996, and her M.S. in counselor education and student affairs from Radford University in 2000.
